This recruitment is open to the public and may be used to fill current and future positions.
The Clerk of the Board Assistant may be assigned to either the Assessment Appeals or Board Operations teams.
Duties may include general clerical assignments, data entry, record management, property tax records review, front desk customer service, mail sorting, phone call routing, and assisting with other high level executive responsibilities.
Competitive candidates will have experience utilizing meeting/agenda programs such as MinuteTraq or Granicus, and/or have experience serving a legislative or executive body, such as a Board of Supervisors.
The Clerk of the Board Assistant is the first professional level classification in the Office of the Clerk of the Board and reports to an appropriate supervisory or manager level position within the department.
Incumbents are expected to perform the full range of administrative responsibilities and assignments may be rotated from Clerk of the Board Administration to providing support to the Assessment Appeals Division, based on operational demands.
Incumbents must be knowledgeable in the functions, services and operations of the Clerk of the Board so they can respond effectively to a variety of inquiries and demands.
Incumbents are further required to effectively maneuver through sensitive and confidential matters and may be privy to highly confidential information, where they must exercise the highest level of judgment and tact in the performance of essential duties.
Meet the Team! The Clerk of the Board supports the Board of Supervisors which is the governing body of the County, certain special districts and the Housing Authority.
The Board enacts ordinances and resolutions, adopts the annual budget, approves contracts appropriates funds, determines land use zoning for the unincorporated area, appoints certain County officers and members of various boards and commissions.

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
