Director of Business Applications

Responsible for planning, organizing, managing, and supporting the areas of business applications and ERP. Maintains the primary student system (Jenzabar CX) and ensures that all systems interoperate in order to provide seamless access to information and resources. A 40 hour, 12 month position.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Other duties may be assigned.
1. Work with the Associate Vice President of Technology in developing strategic direction and vision for enterprise business software.
2. Manages the application lifecycle of ERP and other related applications such as business analytics and reporting. Assist in evaluating, deploying and managing current and future business software.
3. Oversee software development and integration projects related to supporting the business mission.
4. Responsible for maintenance, management, security, and administration of student and business systems, which includes Jenzabar CX, Cognos, JICS, StarRes, Blackboard TransAct, AdAstra and other related systems.
5. Create, maintain and manage project schedules, scope, timelines/milestones, and resources. Communicate such information to appropriate university stakeholders.
6. Oversee security and compliance related to PCI and enterprise information security.
7. Attend meetings and represent ITS appropriately with internal and external clients as needed.
8. Ensure that project deliverables are timely, within budget, seamless, secure, and usable. Organize any training needed for customers.
9. Maintain fluency and understanding of ERP products and connected applications including functionality, capability, security, and best practices.
10. Coordinate with vendors and contractors as needed by project scope.
11. Interface and communicate with customers as needed and assist in developing a customer-centric and service-oriented culture.
12. Participate in planning activities for other areas of ITS.
13. Maintain thorough documentation of systems for all applications and processes.
14. Stay abreast of latest technologies and trends in order to improve access to information and services.

Directly supervises employees and student workers. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; disciplining employee; addressing complaints and resolving issues.

- Experience in managing enterprise business application projects.
- Knowledge of Jenzabar ERP or similar ERP systems.
- Knowledge of programming or related scripting.
- Knowledge of operating systems such as Windows and Linux/Unix.
- Knowledge of databases such as SQL and Oracle.
- Knowledge of information security practices and accessibility compliance.
- Ability to work with customers to define project scope and schedules.
- Ability to broadly look at impact and project possible scenarios.
- Ability to simultaneously coordinate and complete multiple projects.
- Maintain a long-term, big picture view; foresee obstacles, risks and opportunities.
- Ability to supervise and train employees.
- Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills and the ability to work effectively with a diverse faculty, staff and student body.
- Ability to perform thorough research in order to propose alternatives and options.
- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing, and to present information effectively to all levels of the organization.
- Understanding of IP networks and enterprise applications.
- Ability to investigate and analyze information and to draw conclusions.
- Ability to direct and work closely with vendors, consultants, and contractors.

Education and/or Experience
Bachelor's degree required in the areas of Computer Science, Computer Information System, Management Information Systems or related field; Master's degree preferred. Minimum of five (5) years experience in the Information Technology sector with demonstrated experience in managing enterprise business software projects. Experience with Windows and Macintosh operating systems and applications desired.
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
