ACCOUNTANT
POSITION DESCRIPTION
oThe company is looking for a strong Accountant that could assist with the Accounting, Inventory, Internal Controls and Financial Operations of a restaurant chain as well as a few small related entities. This position will report directly to the Controller, and would be responsible for properly executing aspects of the company's financial design. We are currently seeking candidates with experienced Accounting backgrounds.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND
Responsibilities:
oMaintain the AR and AP workflow daily on the QuickBooks Enterprise Software System; provide monthly detail to the Senior Accountant for General Journal entries; insure proper recording of new purchases and disposals.
oMaintain Purchase Order Processing system.
oManage Credit card applications and charges.
oProcess Accounts Payable paperwork at completion of the check run.
oPrepare mailings and priority shipments for the Finance/Accounting Department.
oPrepare labels and maintain files as needed within the department.
oPrepare correspondence as needed within the department.
oAssist Senior Accountant with ADP payroll system and payroll related items.
oManage petty cash account.
oAssist the Controller in tracking and maintaining company insurance policies (except Employee Benefits, which are maintained by the HR Department).
oAssist the Controller with facility support and security issues.
oPerform such other accounting, financial, or administrative tasks as may be required from time to time - quite often on short notice - by the Controller or Senior Accountant.
oPrepare and Post Journal Entries.
oPrepare and analyze account reconciliations.
oPrepare reports detailing monthly expenses by cost center.
oAnalyze total Corporate expenses, including comparisons to forecasted results and trended results.
oInvoice other related entity locations for intercompany charges.
oCorrespond with other Corporate departments to ensure proper accounting for purchases and expenses.
oAd Hoc analyses as needed.
oAnalyze business operations, trends, costs, revenues, financial commitments, and obligations, to project future revenues and expenses and be adept at explaining results
oDevelop, implement, modify, and document recordkeeping and accounting systems, making use of current computer technology;
oDevelop, maintain, and analyze budgets, preparing periodic reports that compare budgeted costs to actual costs;
oEstablish tables of accounts and assign entries to proper accounts;
oMaintain or examine the records of government agencies;
oPrepare, examine, or analyze accounting records, financial statements, or other financial reports to assess accuracy, completeness, and conformance to reporting and procedural standards;
SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
oMust be highly skilled in dealing with financial and numeric data.
oMust be highly skilled in use of Excel Spreadsheets.
oMust have a strong working Knowledge of Microsoft Office
oMust have very good verbal skills.
oMust have excellent work habits, including a willingness to work the hours necessary to get the job done, especially when important deadlines cause greater than normal departmental pressures.

REQUIREMENTS:
oA Bachelors degree in Accounting, or Business with emphasis in accounting, is desirable.
oPrevious Restaurant Experience a plus
oMust have excellent work habits, including a willingness to work the hours necessary to get the job done, especially when important deadlines cause greater than normal departmental pressures.
oA minimum of 3 years experience in accounting is required


Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
