Drafting Supervisor - Transit

Summary
The Drafting Department Supervisor, under the direction of the VP of Production, is responsible for drafting CAD drawings of components, subassemblies and assemblies using fabricated parts for design.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Utilizing CAD skills:
oCreate Model drawings in CAD format using SolidWorks
oReverse Engineer small structures and weldments in a fabrication shop environment
oFamiliarity with and follow established document control / filing procedures
oPerform incoming inspections of engineered parts and assemblies
oMake sketches of (2'-8' structures and weldments)
oIdentify sizes of structural steel used in weldments
oCreate 2D drawings or Electrical Schematic using AutoCad
oCreate 3D models of Assemblies
oCreates drawings from fabricated parts or sketches from supervisors
oCreate Customer Manuals using Word, Excel, Adobe Photo Shop and Adobe Reader
oParts verification as components samples are received from vendors
oUtilize basic measuring tools such as measuring tape, calipers & micrometers, etc
oInteract with other supervisors and subordinates
oUtilize basic Mechanical Engineering skills as found in ANSI 14.5
Qualifications oMinimum 10 years of drafting experience at a supervisory level
oMinimum 3years experience as a CAD Drafter/Designer in manufacturing field
oHigh school diploma, GED or equivalent, preference to certifications in SolidWords and AutoCad or other related disciplines
oPossess a strong work ethic, positive attitude and be detailed oriented
oExcellent written and verbal communication skills
oStrong supervisory skills
oAbility to assess personnel requirements and evaluate subordinate performance
oAbility to train, guide, and direct a crew
oMust be willing to obtain or have a commercial drivers license
