Design Engineer - Sensors and Controls - Degree required

Are you seeking an opportunity to design and develop new products within an organization focused on innovation, superior quality and exceptional value? We are seeking individuals with product design experience in the electronic components and solutions sector with expertise in SENSORS and CONTROLS.
This role will be based in southern California and includes the following responsibilities.
Design and develop new sensors and controls products and manufacturing processes.
Develop product concept through volume production.
Develop detailed assembly drawings.
Provide technical support and consolidate input from marketing, customers and industry standards groups into product concepts and detailed requirements.
Perform complex and novel work assignments pertaining to product and process development, production qualifications of new products.
Conduct custom mechanical design (modeling) and drawings using 3D CAD software.
Lead global multidisciplinary development teams for concurrent engineering processes.
Facilitate engineering activities in design and process evaluation to optimize project objectives.
Conceive, plan, develop, and coordinate projects as an individual contributor or as a member of a cross- functional team.
Create and develop engineering project documentation, e.
g.
, bill of materials, drawings, and specifications.
Support and implement product release plans as assigned.
Direct and develop prototypes and test plans; validate as required.
Participate in or conduct design reviews and provide feedback, using the appropriate tools, e.
g.
, FMEA, field and lab testing.
Direct and troubleshoot, analyze, and resolve engineering project issues utilizing state of the art tools and methodologies.
Support plant engineering and continuous improvement projects as assigned.
Research and document new technologies to be considered for future product line enhancements.
Provide direction to manufacturing and vendors during the build process of released products.
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from an accredited four-year college or university.
An advance degree is a plus.
Experience working in a lean manufacturing environment using Six Sigma, 3D CAD, SPC, DOE and other engineering tools.
Product design experience with sensors and controls products.
Experience with Pro/E software is desired and the development of models for stress analysis.
Superior engineering acumen, excellent people and relationship building skills and the desire to succeed.

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
