Accounting and Compliance Manager

The position reportsdirectly to the Controller and is responsible for managing all general ledgerand closing processes related to the Broker Management system(s), GL system(s)and any additionally acquired systems. Manage the balance sheet reconciliationprocess accordingly to company policy and deadlines. The position managesa team of individuals and is responsible for the delivery of accurate, timelyand efficient work product coupled with strong customer service.
Essential Duties and
Responsibilities:
Manage the closing process (monthly, quarterly andannually) related to various Broker management system(s), GL system(s) and any
additional acquired systems within corporate defined time-frames.
Manage the timely and accurate preparation and approval ofbalance sheet account reconciliations
Assume ownership and lead for all reconciliationassignments, approvals, reconciling items, resolution and compliance of allteam members.
Manage the journal entries preparation and approval forboth the Broker Management system(s) and GL system(s).
Support the accounting conversion from various brokermanagement systems and acquisition systems into the company broker managementsystem.
Liaison with the corporate treasury team as it relates toHFC treasury functions.
Serve as leadership role in coordinating and reviewinginformation for internal and external audits.
Lead, coach, develop, evaluate and monitor the team.
Establish and monitor department performance metrics.
Provide direct support to Controller as required.
Experience and KnowledgeRequirements:
Requires at least 5 years accounting experience
Requires at least 5 years Supervisory experience.
Experience in an accounting shared services environment isa Plus.
Insurance Brokerage Experience preferred
Must have excellent written and verbal communicationskills
Intermediate/Advanced Word and Excel Skills required
Strong analytical and problem solving skills
Ability to motivate, influence and lead others.

High degree of accuracy with a good eye for detail
Self-motivated and proactive

Education Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting/Finance required. CPA or pursuing CPA completion preferred.

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
